Some of the interior courtrooms are stunning, and you may even see a trial in progress. It was a huge commitment to build them, and they deserve preservation! They are also a good "civic lesson" for your young kids. These records can include land deeds, mortgages, land grants, and other important property-related documents. The original cost of building these courthouses-which were an important source of pride and prestige for the county/city-seems small in today's dollars, but they were very expensive when built. Hays County Land Records are real estate documents that contain information related to property in Hays County, Texas.

Make it a point to see the outside of these at a minimum, and if you have time, take a look inside. WE ARE EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES.

These courthouses really do "set a high bar" for all the others. Hays Countys property values are up nearly 1 billion over last year according to preliminary appraisals announced by the Hays Central Appraisal District. For the best, look at San Antonio, Dallas, Waxahachie, Weatherford, Wharton, Gatesville, La Grange, Fort Worth, Denton, Marfa and a host of others available on the Texas Historic website. The assessor must be certified by the Department of Property Assessment and Taxation and attention continuing education to keep this certification. Since the range of Texas courthouses is so wide, this has to be an "average" one-not in the top tier. The square around it is very active (not true for many small towns) and has some nice historic structures as well-most of which are businesses open to the public. They are not all the same! There are some incredibly beautiful and well preserved (Texas has made a significant effort to save the buildings), but here are a number that are too new and not well maintained. As you travel Texas, you will quickly see that the small County Seat towns (as well as the big cities) all have courthouses.
